Black is the New Black

Looking through my wardrobe, I actually don't have a lot of black clothes or accessories. I remember in college, some of my friends would pretty much only wear black and my closet was a colorful rainbow of all colors with very little black. Anyway, winning this black purse might be one of those things that changes everything. This may shock you, but I don't think I've ever owned a black purse. Sounds kind of crazy, right? Well, If I ever did own one, I can't remember what it looked like. But - bags that are white, orange, beige with a pop of color? I've got those down. So, this will be fun. It's always good to get outside of your comfort zone. Here's to black!

Close up of the beautiful bag I won from a Harper Loren blog giveaway - there were almost 5,000 entries and I was the lucky one! So fun, right?

I got these leopard smoking slippers for Christmas last year and I really think they are the perfect Fall shoe. Although they give me blisters like no other. I guess this is why I have a box of bandaids waiting in the wings.  Stay blister free, friends!

Goodbye Summer

Since Summer is ending over, I thought I would share one of my favorite recent beach memories. Now, we do live in North Carolina so naturally the last time I was at the beach was in the middle of last Fall - in October... That's totally normal, right?  During this trip to Topsail Island, Jake and I dipped our toes into the Atlantic Ocean for the first time.

I've been to beaches in Hawaii, Italy, California, Washington State, Iceland and now the Carolinas. I must say that Topsail beach in North Carolina was one of my favorites - mostly because of the warm water and powdery soft sand. On this particular day, I would guess that it was in the mid-80s and the water had to be at least 70 degrees. It was so warm -- it felt like bathwater!

Loving mother nature's ombre blue.

This scene reminds me of a corona commercial.

Our spot for the day. Could have stayed here for a week.

This is different than Hawaii -- stairs to the beach???

One pieces are the new two pieces.

There is really no feeling in the world like wiggling your toes in the sand... amiright? Hope you had an amazing summer -- and here's to still being able to go to the beach in the Fall. We might have to make another trip soon! I've been craving the ocean.

xoxo,
Kim
